Kevin Grimes, M.D., M.B.A, will deliver an talk on academic-industry collaboration from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at the Health Information and Translational Sciences Building, Room 1110.
Dr. Grimes is the co-director of the SPARK Program at Stanford University. SPARK's mission is to advance promising research discoveries into new therapeutics and diagnostics, and to educate faculty, post-doctoral fellows and students on translational process and entreprenuership. SPARK is now in its eighth year. More than fifty local biotechnology, pharmacuetical, and health care leaders serve as advisors and mentors. Approximately 50 percent of the projects in the program have been licensed and/or advanced to clinical trials.
