The Annique Wilson-Weekes Scholarship of Excellence was established in honor of Wilson-Weekes, a beloved member of the IU School of Medicine Class of 2014 who passed away from a rare stomach cancer after her first year of medical school in 2012. Members of the Class of 2014 have currently raised $78,000 for the scholarship, including matching funds from the IUSM Dean's Office. The class continues to work towards their goal to raise a total of $100,000 goal to create a fully endowed annual scholarship for students whose experiences and background reflect the memory of Wilson-Weeks, a mother and non-traditional student who entered medical school at the age of 36. Contributions to the fund, which are tax deductible, will be accepted via the IU Foundation during the dinner. Attendance and entertainment are no cost. Participants are responsible for the price of their dinner. Participants in Dinner on the Deck may come and go as they please and are invited to bring extra folding chairs or blankets to enjoy the entertainment on the lawn.
