Story of Madame CJ Walker: Writing my Great-Great Grandmother Back Into History with A'Lelia Bundles
A'Lelia Bundles, the biographer and great great granddaughter of Madam CJ Walker will speak at IUPUI to launch the 2010 celebration of Women's History Month. This year's national theme is "Writing Women Back into History." Ms. Bundles wrote the history of Madam Walker in her official biography, "On her own ground. The life and times of Madame C.J. Walker." Madam Walker was one of the 20th century's most successful, self-made women entrepreneurs and one of 15 women named to the National Business Hall of Fame. She moved her business to Indianapolis 100 years ago in 1910. Ms. Bundles is an accomplished journalist, former ABC News executive, and an Emmy Award winning producer.
