The recent explosion of the use of various IT systems in the healthcare areana presents a tremendous opportunity for IT professionals. Additionally the deployment and utilization of electronic record keeping sytems for use in healthcare presents both an opportunity and a challenge to everyone involved. The CompTIA Healthcare IT Technician was developed as a supplement to both real-world experience and other IT certifications as a way for IT personnel to demonstrate basic understanding of, and competency in, essential healtcare and IT concepts and terminology and the integration of the two realms of practice.

As an IT professional, you are in a unique position to contribute to and benefit from the increasing integration of IT and healthcare systems. This course will provide you with foundational knowledge that is critical to your ability to take advantage of the tremendous opportunity presented by the advancements in healthcare-IT integration.

This EdCert workshop uses courseware licensed from CompTIA. Due to licensing restrictions, though anyone can register for this course, only IU students, staff and faculty are eligible for discounted CompTIA exam vouchers upon completion of the course.

Additionally, since the materials for EdCert workshops are ordered from a 3rd party source, you must register for EdCert workshops 3 business days in advance of the first teach date to guarantee your seat. If you believe you are eligible but are unable to register, or if you have missed the cut off date and would like to register, please contact our IUPUI office.
