          About This Event

          Summary

          This EdCert workshop uses 3rd party courseware. Due to licensing restrictions, only technical staff who use the skills taught in their jobs, currently enrolled IU students, and faculty who teach this topic in academic classes are eligible to register for this workshop.

          This workshop lasts 2 days.

          The dynamic business environment today may increase IT demands tremendously. You need to meet the demands to ensure the survival of your organization in the market. Needless to say, you must make plans to meet the demands within limited reources of finance, people, and technology. This is exactly what cloud computing can provide to your business. In this coure, you will weigh the pros and cons of cloud computing to make effective decisions in meeting the IT challenges. You will cover an introduction to cloud computing, assess the business value of cloud computing, the technical aspects and challenges of cloud computing, and an overview of ITIL and service strategy of cloud computing.

          This EdCert workshop uses courseware licensed from CompTIA. Due to licensing restrictions, though anyone can register for this course, only IU students, staff and faculty are eligible for discounted CompTIA exam vouchers upon completion of the course.

          Additionally, since the materials for EdCert workshops are ordered from a 3rd party source, you must register for EdCert workshops 3 business days in advance of the first teach date to guarantee your seat. If you believe you are eligible but are unable to register, or if you have missed the cut off date and would like to register, please contact our IUPUI office.

            What You'll learn Available Downloads

          • Learn the fundamental concepts of cloud computing

          • Learn the business aspects and impact of cloud computing

          • Differentiate the types of cloud solutions and the adoption measures needed for each

          • Identify the technical challenges and the mitigation measures involved in cloud computing

          • Identify the steps to successfully adopt cloud services

          • Identify the basic concepts of ITIL and describe how the ITIL framework is useful in the implementation of cloud computing

          • Identify possible risks involved in cloud computing and the risk mitigation measures.

          • A good understanding of networking fundamentals

          • Experience implementing, managing and administering Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2

          • Fundamentals using Office 2010 and Office 2007

          • Fundamental knowledge of network design and management
