All SPEA Alumni who work for the City of Indianapolis or the State of Indiana are invited to this special luncheon.
Assistant Dean Terry Baumer and the School’s Alumni Association will host this special event exclusively for State of Indiana and City of Indianapolis employees who graduated from SPEA.
During the luncheon, Dean Baumer will share a brief update about the School and the featured speaker will be Dr. Abdul-Akeem Sadiq who joined the SPEA faculty in fall 2010. After completing his joint Ph.D. in Public Policy at Georgia State University and Georgia Institute of Technology in May 2009, he served as a lecturer in the Emergency Administration and Planning program at University of North Texas (UNT). In 2010, Dr. Sadiq, along with Dr. David McEntire and Kailash Gupta, conducted research in Haiti after the 2010 devastating earthquake. This research, which was funded by the National Science Foundation, focused on understanding mass fatality management issues following the earthquake. Currently, Dr. Sadiq is conducting a study on Chemical Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS).
Alumni in attendance will have an opportunity to win several door prizes and other give-aways. This will be a nice opportunity to say hello to old friends and meet other alumni working for the State of Indiana or the City of Indianapolis. Incidentally, the lunch is “free”.
There are no upcoming dates for this event.
