Dr. Corinne Moss-Racusin of Yale University will speak about gender bias in the sciences. Her work, which was recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, demonstrates that even well-intentioned faculty at research institutions use gender stereotypes to judge male vs. female science students in terms of their suitability for a lab manager position. Dr. Moss-Racusin’s work will help us learn ways to recognize our own gender biases and to minimize their influence on our judgments. We hope you can join us for this enlightening conversation.
