Dr. Steven Jay, Professor of Medicine, IUSM, and Professor, Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, will review a 20th-century cautionary tale of how the clandestine search for foreknowledge during the Cold War exposed unwitting patients to dangerous "mind-control" research, and revealed the limitations of the medical profession in assuring ethical conduct of human experimentation, a challege that continues into the 21st century.
Refreshments will be served.
