Donald Ray Pollock is the author of the story collection Knockemstiff, which won the 2009 PEN/Robert Bingham Fellowship, and the widely acclaimed 2012 novel The Devil All the Time. He grew up in Knockemstiff, Ohio, and worked in a paper mill in Chillicothe, Ohio, for 32 years. His work has appeared in such publications as The New York Times, Chiron Review, River Styx, Boulevard, Folio, Granta, Washington Square, and The Berkeley Fiction Review.
