About This Event

Summary

Dr. David Smith, Professor Emeritus, IU Department of Religious Studies, will discuss the parallels between theology and medical reasoning as practical sciences.  His areas of study include religious studies, philanthropic studies, and medical ethics.

This presentation will argue that wonder is the basis of both theology and medical reasoning while also describing the implications of wonder on the style and substance of medical ethics.

Co-sponsored by the Spirit of Medicine program, the Charles Warren Fairbanks Center for Medical Ethics, and the Medical Humanities & Health Studies Program.

Held in the Riley Outpatient Center Auditorium.
