Students selected to participate in the IU School of Medicine Student Research Program in Academic Medicine will deliver oral presentations about their summer research projects from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 1, and Friday, Aug. 2, in the Walther Hall (R3), Room 203.
Students spent 12 weeks this summer under the mentorship of an IU School of Medicine researcher on their own research projects. They also attended weekly seminars to learn more about the process of considering research as a future endeavor. Each presentation will be 8-12 minutes long with a total of 17 students presenting on each day.
A small awards presentation the following week in a small reception. Scholarships will be awarded to the top projects, including $13,000 to the first-place winner.
A poster sessions on the projects is also scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in the VanNuys Medical Science Atrium.
