          About This Event

          Summary

          IUPUI alumnus and vice chairman and CEO of Fifth Third Bank Kevin Kabat will be on campus Nov. 15 to be presented with the inaugural John T. Hazer Distinguished Psychology Alumnus Award and to present the Hazer Guest Lecture.

          He will speak on leveraging a master's in industrial organizational psychology in the corporate world at 2 p.m. in the Lilly Auditorium at the IUPUI Library. The award presentation, lecture and question and answer session will be followed by a reception at 3:30 on the lower level of the IUPUI Library.

           

          Kabat received a master of science degree in industrial/organizational psychology at the School of Science at IUPUI in 1981 before joining Merchants National Bank. In 1982, he joined Old Kent Bank and held various leadership positions, before the bank was acquired by Fifth Third Bank. He climbed the leadership ranks there as well and in 2008 because Fifth Third’s chairman, a position he still holds today.

          Kabat remains connected to the IUPUI community and has returned to campus on numerous occasions. He has presented guest lectures on his own career path at the Kelley School of Business and as an expert on the navigation of the TARP regulations at the McKinney School of Law.

          The campus is invited to attend the Hazer Distinguished Psychology Guest Lecture and reception.
