Join us for our next Cultural Arts Gallery opening reception featuring art by Elizabeth Krajeck and Angela Edwards. The show runs Monday, March 12 through Friday, April 6, 2007. Krajeck focuses on community and neighborhood-based writing, reviews, poetry, instruction, performance, and publications for children and adults. Works include literary and visual arts collaborations, grants and newsletters. Topics have included special needs populations, project-based housing and shelter descriptions. » Read More

Wed. 3/28: Live Link with the Middle East

Iran's Manouchehr Hosseinzadeh, investigative journalist, has covered the Sinai War between Egypt and Israel, the Iran and Iraq war, and the Shir-Shati operation in Oman. More recently, he has been actively researching novel media strategies for moving beyond the supposed 'Clash of Civilizations' and the growing global religious divides. The focus of this presentation is the historical tapestry of Shi'as in the Middle East and its implication for the crisis in Iraq and the US war on terror. The speaker presents a very strong case for diplomatic dialogue between the US and Shi'a leadership across the Middle East. » Read More

Dr. Rudy Banerjee, Assistant Professor in the IU School of Liberal Arts presents: Space-Time Models of Drugs and Violence. Dr. Banerjee specializes in geo-spatial applications in the realm of preventative health policies. This talk will describe an investigation of the relationship between alcohol outlets and alcohol-related violence in the community. » Read More
