The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, and celebrates breast cancer survivorship while honoring those who have lost their battle with the disease. With funds raised by the Komen Race for the Cure, the Komen Foundation is able to fund breast cancer research grants, meritorious awards and community outreach programs. A Mandala is a Tibetan artifact made of colored sand. The sand is placed into a four fold symmetrical pattern containing a rich assortment of symbolic allegory relating to Buddhist teachings & philosophies.
